Bethany Jones

Welsh Factor Starlet follows her dream

Welsh Factor Talent Competitions contestant Bethany Jones has gone from strength to strength over the years as she follows her dream in Musical Theatre, and no one is more delighted than one of the judges and director here at Stargazer Music Magazine,
Ian Davies International Music Journalist, and recently told us;

“Bethany never ceases to amaze me, as every single performance is delivered in such style and grace, and in a manner that is older than her years. The sheer power emanated from her voice at only 17 years old is truly remarkable, and feel this young lady is now on the road to success and will achieve her goal in not only musical theatre, but will soon tread the boards in the West End and even Broadway”

Recently Bethany took some time out to produce a Show Reel at COBRA Music Studios in Newport, Wales, here in the UK, and spent 4 hours recording video and audio the day after dislocating her knee. But, ever the professional, she battled through the pain to give some amazing performances, one of which is featured here, with the full collection available on her YouTube channel over the next few weeks. Here’s the first of those videos where she’s joined by fellow Welsh Factor Talent Competitions contestant and established YouTuber, Alan J. Preston -Singer- Tenor. In a recent chat, Alan told us about a whole new side to Bethany ‘s voice that he was hugely impressed by, and went on to add;

“The whole production was conducted in a socially distanced and responsible environment at COBRA, with this as their take on the title song from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. The video will be featured as part of the entertainment at this year’s Wales International Film Festival, and we are both delighted in the knowledge that this performance will be seen worldwide”.

Alan, a classically trained tenor specialising in light opera, operetta, musical theatre and 1950’s/1960’s ballads and songs, first met Bethany through performing himself at The Welsh Factor Talent Competitions, and immediately saw something very special within Bethany’s voice. Over the weeks, Alan has been encouraging her to go to the next level, and has very much been another string to her bow as she aims for the stars.

Bethany’s success as a vocalist, although coming from a natural born talent, has been nurtured and trained by her vocal coach
Tanya Harrison Vocal Coach Advanced Performance Coach and has helped her tremendously to become the incredible vocalist you hear today.
